AL:II.62 “I am uplifted in thine heart; and the kisses of the stars rain hard upon thy body.” The individual is responsible for creating him or herself, as much as to create a Soul, or what is called the Body of Light. But the force that animates the body initially, is called a teleological force; that which comes to Earth vertically from the Universe of stars of above. Yet it is an undifferentiated force that produces nothing individualistic in any being it inhabilts; individualization being that Soul that must be produced by what one does and produces in the world.

Teleology
1. Teleologyis more commonly thought of as being the force of intelligent design acting on the mater of the Universe to construct the human body.
1A. Magickally, or in the theory and practice of Scientific Illuminism, we can think of it as a vertical force, as if from a Universal energy we can call the Agape or Divine Providence, acting on the horizontal energy of the Will that emanates from terrestrial forces.
1A1. We bring Agape and Will together through the gematria of the Greek Qabalah; Will or Thelema and Agape both adding to 93 and explaining each other.
1A1a. This of course, comes out of Liber AL vel Legis; a very important holy book.
1B. The vertical and horizontal forces meet to form a force of consciousness called L.V.X.; being manifest in symbol by the shape of the cross.
1B1. This is explained adroitly in Crowley’s introduction to 777 and Mathers introduction to the Book of the Concealed Mystery; the letter of which explains the vertical force magnificently.

2. We may think of this vertical or teleological force to be separate from the body; the latter being a manifestation of the horizontal force.
2A. Note from this also, that man is considered to have evolved to this teleological force, when he stops dragging his knuckles (horizontal posture) and stands upright.
2B. We can through this, affirm the Cartesian notion that the mind is of a separate substance from that of the body.
2B1. This substance would be the L.V.X. that gives our church its namesake.
3. The inert matter of the body must also result is a consciousness; albeit what we can call an horizontal consciousness.
3A. This consciousness is not so much teleological as it is mechanistic, and is intimately entwined with the teleological force, but not identical with it.
3A1. Again, the cross symbolizes this. And it is an abuse of the symbol to associate it in any way with human torture.
3A1a. The symbol is much older than Christianity.
4. Connecting these two forces to one force; the L.V.X. or cross, strongly suggests that in raising the consciousness of mankind, we generate an evolutionary structure called the Soul.
4A. This congealing unites all the elements of our being into one constellating or center of knowing that though initially tied to the body, is not dependent on the body.
4A1. It then is formulated in what can be symbolized as a star; even independent from the artificial construct of the personality.
4B. The ego, being the center of the Ruach and outward reaching presentation of thhe personality–even of the superego or conscience is a congealing force.
4B1. But it should be thought of as a receiver of that teleological signal that is the Silent Voice of the Augoeides.
4B1a. This intuitive force is the prime motivator in the present life.
4B1a1. Where this can be heard, we have evidence of a younger soul.
5. The personality is intimately tied to the environment that is the outer life of the Soul.
5A. It mistakenly looks up to the sky for Divine Providence; that though it finds an appropriate symbol in the Sun, it is merely finding a synchronicity of that which belongs to the inner sky from where the teleological force emanates.
5B. If one cannot find that inner Sun, no Soul can be congealed.
5B1. The Augoeides, which is one’s Genius and intuitive inspiration, is the congealing force; the inner fire that forges the Soul.
5C. The personality must be destroyed with the body. It is only the inner genius that will survive; assuming it is congealed.
6. Focusing on one’s talent; discovering such through the intuition and following the life path that it impels is the key to all human craft.
6A. Whether science or art, its practice is the key; no matter the level of expertise developed.
6B. This is how the Soul is forged; taking in the teleological force of the Augoeides that is the Grace of Gnosis.
